Burger Wars - review
In my mind, what makes a hamburger special is the mix of meats in the grind. My favorites burger places are the B Spot in Royal Oak and Luxe in Birmingham. B Spot on Main Street is part of a chain of restaurants owned Chef Michael Symon, a well-known restauranteur and a favorite on the Food Network. His burgers are a grind of Sirloin, Chuck, and Brisket. All the meat on their menu is raised without hormones and is grass fed. My favorite menu item is the Thin Lizzy. It is an 8-ounce burger topped with pickles, grilled onions, mayonnaise, and cheddar cheese. The burger is juicy, and the toppings are among my favorites. There are many other things I would like to try on their menu, but when it comes down to it, I just can't pass up their burger. B Spot also has a location in Rochester Hills.

The juicy burger at Luxe Bar and Grill on Old Woodward is a blend of Chuck, Sirloin, and Short Ribs. The Luxe Burger, which has a little chew to it, is topped with shredded lettuce, cheese of your choice, pickles, and Luxe Sauce. I am addicted to the sauce, which is mayonnaise based with garlic and onion. I am working to try to replicate the sauce and will share it when I have it down. The bun is a house-made brioche. Aside from the Birmingham location, there is a Luxe in Grosse Pointe Farms.
