Creamy Tomato Sauce

My Creamy Tomato Sauce is simple to make. Your dinner guests will never guess that it was made with a purchased jar of sauce.

Serves 4

1 jar spaghetti sauce

1/4 cup shallots

2 teaspoons minced garlic

1/2 cup cream (or half and half) at room temperature

Spray the bottom of a medium sized pot with cooking spray. Saute the shallots and garlic until translucent. Add the spaghetti sauce and let this simmer for about 15 minutes. Remove the sauce from the burner and slowly add the cream while whisking. Place the sauce back on the burner and heat through on simmer.

Note: My favorite jar of sauce is Classico (Tomato and Basil). I recently served this pasta sauce with ricotta gnocchi made from a Bon Appetit recipe. The creamy sauce goes well with any pasta.
